Philip is a qualified financial adviser with diploma status (Dip PFS) from the Chartered Insurance Institute and Personal Finance Society, and also a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities. He began his career at City Assurance Consultants, where he rose through the ranks to become CEO, after which he led a successful management buyout and seven years later sold the company. He then created Pallant Independent, a Financial Planning practice based in Guildford and a wholly owned subsidiary of Thesis Asset Management, where he built the company into a niche practice. Thesis was sold to Private Equity in 2017 after which Philip left to establish a new business within the Oculus group. Philip has an exceptional rate of client retention and takes great pleasure in his long-standing relationships with clients' families, many of which span decades and several generations.

Philip is married to Annabel and has three daughters. He is keen on long walks with his working cocker spaniel, Eddie, in the beautiful Surrey countryside; he is a qualified navigator and puts this to good use in various vintage aircraft at summer air shows. Philip also enjoys fly fishing and field sports and is a Freeman of the City of London.
